#vanlife #maxxair #diy My MaxxAir 5100K Vent Fan suddenly stopped working. After finding a troubling shooting guide online, I quickly determined that the control board was bad. Troubleshooting the control board was easy because I have a volt meter. The volt meter showed that the control board was receiving power but not providing that power to the fan motor. The diagnosis was unfortunate being that this is summertime, and I need this vent fan to be operational. In anticipation of future troubles, I’ve been carrying some spare electrical parts and a computer fan. To get me by for a day, I wired up the computer fan. But I had a better idea for a longer term solution. I was able to wire in a spare PWM Motor Speed Controller to the MaxxAir fan motor. And it worked! This fix is a temporary solution as I’m not sure about the quality of the electronics in the Motor Controller that I am using. I’ll be researching a better quality controller. To be Continued. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time. Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home. Please follow along as I document my journey. My Channel Stickers are now available for purchase through PayPal.
