When 588 Wendish Sorbs decided to emigrate from their home country in Prussia and Saxony, they were faced with a perilous journey across Europe and the Atlantic ocean. This installment chronicles the journey of the blacksmiths, tailors, gardeners, farmers, laborers, maids, watchmakers, cabinet-makers, harness-makers, locksmiths, metal-grinders, wheel-wrights, weavers, brick masons, shoemakers, potters, and several Häusler (land-owners) that intended to establish their own self-sufficient colony in the new world of Texas, with Jan Kilian as their religious leader.
