My boyfriend works as a guide (ski guide in winter and river guide in summer), but this summer his company is closed because there aren’t enough tourists, so he’s been stuck at home. Instead of looking for different work, he has decided that he is going to use this time to focus on his novel, which is a project he’s been working on on-and-off for a few years. At first I encouraged him because I thought it would cheer him up, but it’s now been six weeks and I worry that he is not making plans to get a new job and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
